Short Story Contest
Bluegrass Writers Coalition is excited to announce the Kentucky Visions Short Story Contest, an annual contest designed to highlight Kentucky’s rich literary talent and to celebrate the best in short fiction written by Kentuckians or about our beloved Bluegrass State.
Each story will be read and evaluated by a panel of judges, all multi-published authors and members of Bluegrass Writers Coalition. The first place winner will receive a trophy to commemorate their accomplishment. Finalists and winners will receive a certificate suitable for framing, and their story will be published in an anthology highlighting the best of Kentucky short fiction. First, second, and third place winners will receive a cash prize!
Entries into the 2024 Kentucky Visions Short Story Contest must be received by January 31, 2024. Before entering your story, please read the contest rules here.

Step 2 - Complete the online entry form here.

Step 3 - Pay the $20 entry fee here. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Step 4 - Email your story as an attachment to BWCSSContest@gmail.com
You will receive a confirmation that your story has been received, reviewed, and is eligible to be passed on to the judges. If you do not receive a confirmation within 7 days, feel free to send an inquiry to that email address.
Finalists will be notified by the first week of March, 2024. The winners will be announced on March 31, 2024.
